Quiz Night - Saturday, 12th October

This was our third Quiz Night - repeated by popular request.  Our usual Quiz Master, Mike, was unable to do the honours this year so Craig McLachlan stepped into the breach.  Craig is a quiz master with 20 years experience and is a keen quizzer himself, having taken part in national competitions in the past, so he wasnt a newbie to such events.  There was a good variety of questions - something for everyone - incorporating a picture round depicting 30 well known faces (but not always as we know them), to which we had to put names.  It was great fun and there was a lot of laughter and head scratching going on.

A welcome break from brain-storming was taken to have paella provided by Paella Fella, with a choice of vegetarian, sea-food or chicken and chorizo.

Finally, it was time to find out who the winning and losing teams were and this year the winners were the Super Eight team and the wooden spooners were the Red Hot Peppers.  Super Eight received a tin of chocolates and a ribboned medal each and Red Hot Peppers received a wooden spoon each, which will come in very useful mixing the Christmas pud !

As Mike has in previous years, Craig also opted for us to make a donation to a charity rather than pay him for his time and his chosen charity was PSDS which is a charity supporting children with Downs Syndrome and their families - we were really happy to be able pass on £150 for that charity.

Line Dancing and Ploughman's Supper Evening

A very enjoyable and fun evening was had by all in the hall at St. Josephs, Ladbroke Road, Redhill on Saturday, 18th May.

The first dance was at 7.15 pm with the experienced caller helping us along.  Dancers were then able to replenish their energy with a lovely Ploughman's spread of food.
